This was, without question, the most uncomfortable massage experience I've ever had—and I've had a lot of massages over the years. The experience started off badly. After I undressed and got ready for the massage, I realized the table only had a fitted sheet on it. There was no top sheet, just a folded pillowcase. As I was trying to figure out whether I was missing something or how I was supposed to cover myself, the therapist knocked on the door. I responded loudly, "I'm not ready yet," but she came in anyway. I used the small pillowcase to cover myself as best I could and explained that I wasn't ready because there was no sheet on the table. She said it was no problem, searched through a drawer until she found one, then instructed me to get on the table. Unfortunately, things didn't improve from there. When the massage began, the sheet was positioned below my butt, and throughout the entire session the sheet was not secured or tucked in, so I constantly had to adjust it myself as everything was exposed, especially during the leg work. At one point, she moved my arm behind me and pulled it upward in a way that left much of my front side exposed. Instead of relaxing, I spent the entire massage worrying about whether I was adequately covered. To make matters worse, the final bill was higher than expected, they added a $3 credit card processing fee, and I was told that I had to tip 25%. I've never left a massage feeling so uncomfortable. Professional draping and client privacy should be basic standards, and unfortunately that was completely lacking during my visit.
